Disagree. Schools will choose if they wanna play in semi-pro leagues or not


That will be the dividing line. See my post in this thread. I could totally see some schools deciding they do not want to pay players and compete against the bigdogs for them anymore. I could also see many schools simply lacking the money to compete with the bigdogs in the future.

The SEC and B1G schools will obviously have the money, but some of them may just not want to be a part of a semipro league anymore.

I could also see the UNCs of the world rejecting this for football, but being all over the semipro basketball league. More teams would be able to afford the 15 man basketball squads as well.

And ohI'm pretty sure Mandel isn't claiming for certain these will be the 24 programs. I don't think we will have much of an idea who will and will not want to make this transition. You might find a T.Boone Pickens out there who will single handedly pay for a particular school to compete in this new league. I bet Knight would for Oregon for instance.

VT might have a tough decision one day. Do we want to be a part of a semi pro football or basketball league?
